Well it's official and we survived!!! Today I completed my first week back at work. We had pre-planning this week and I will welcome my kids on Monday. It was a crazy busy week as I had to set up a new classroom and get acclimated to our new schedule. Laura Beth did wonderful and was delighted to spend as much time as she could with LaNae and Jude. Last week I began to second guess my decision and complain for a moment "poor me...why do I have to go back to work".. you know the drill. Then about Sunday it hit me... why am I complaining!! How about "lucky me, I have a job." With the economy the way it is and people suffering, how dare I even begin to complain. I am blessed to have a job I love. A job that is secure and even allows me to pick up my baby at 3:30 each day, a wonderful caretaker for my daughter and a supportive husband to pick up where I leave off. So on Monday morning I embraced the decision I had made and was met with open arms at school. At the end of this week I must say I am exhausted. However, I am optimistic and excited about the year ahead. Although I deeply missed my time with Laura Beth I have to say it is nice to feel like a grown up again and have my time. Housework was much lighter and I seemed to prioritize better since I have to. I can't wait to meet my students on Monday and be able to share my gifts with them. I hope to uplift, inspire, and teach!
This weekend we plan to spend time together around the house and head over to Laura's to grill out tomorrow night. We are going shopping to get Laura Beth some pajamas, a potty, and a mirrow. I must explain: The pajamas.. well she just keeps growing and growing. The potty... yes a bit early I know but she has recently started telling us "diaper" when she has pooped in her diaper. She also comes into the bathroom with us and says "yucky." We figure we'll atleast get one and put in the bathroom if she wants to try to sit and use it. The mirror.... funny! Lately, Laura Beth has an obsession with looking at herself in the mirror. We only have mirrors high in the bathrooms. She reaches and says "baby" "baby" as she wants us to stand her up on the counter so she can see herself. LaNae has a stand up mirror in her bedroom and Laura Beth loves to hang out in front of it. So we're going to hang one up in her room. :)
I know my blogs won't be as frequent. So until next time.. Goodnight! I am off to get some much needed rest!
